Ikhlas.com Aims To Fly Over 200,000 Umrah Pilgrims In 2024-2025

Capital A Bhd’s Muslim-friendly business arm Ikhlas Com Travel and Umrah Sdn Bhd (ikhlas.com) aims to fly more than 200,000 umrah pilgrims for the 2024-2025 season.

Ikhlas.com chief executive officer Ikhlas Kamarudin said the company had successfully flown more than 110,000 umrah pilgrims previously for the 2023-2024 season.

‘We are confident that the target can be achieved as we currently give umrah pilgrims the option to land in Madinah or Jeddah. Previously, we only flew pilgrims to Jeddah from Kuala Lumpur.

‘With two flights a week to Madinah, ikhlas.com is able to offer a more comfortable and affordable option for more Malaysian or regional guests and pilgrims to perform the umrah,’ he told the media after witnessing the inaugural AirAsia X flight departure from Kuala Lumpur to Madinah here today.

Also present was Capital A executive chairman Datuk Kamarudin Meranun.

In addition, Ikhlas said the improvement made by the company, namely the flight timing which takes into account the arrival time afte
r the hotel check-in time in Medinah, allowing pilgrims to check-in at the hotel without delay, will also be an attraction for people to choose the package offered.

‘This means that they (umrah pilgrims) can check-in at the hotel more easily once they arrive in Madinah, and they don’t have to wait a long time at the airport or hotel lobby,’ he said.

Ikhlas said that in conjunction with the inaugural flight, ikhlas.com is offering a ‘Sama-Summer Umrah’ promotion with a discount of up to RM1,000 per booking for four people or a RM500 discount per booking for two people from Aug 1-31, 2024.

Meanwhile, Kamarudin said the group plans to give its customers the opportunity to convert reward points under the loyalty programme, airasia move, to umrah packages under ikhlas.com.

‘We have a loyalty programme that gives a point system, so maybe after this, people will perform umrah for free by converting points to do umrah,’ he said.
