HWUM COLLABORATES WITH BERNAMA TO PROMOTE PURPOSE-DRIVEN EDUCATION

KUALA LUMPUR, Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) has established a collaboration with the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) as a strategic media partner to disseminate information about the university and its purpose-driven education.

HWUM provost and chief executive officer Professor Mushtak Al-Atabi said the university selected Bernama as its strategic media partner due to the news agency’s integral role and reputation for integrity.

“On behalf of HWUM, I would like to commend Bernama for its unwavering commitment to providing reliable and insightful news coverage. Bernama’s dedication to delivering news that is not only fast and accurate but also fair and balanced is truly commendable.

“The credible news agency is also supported by a passionate team driven by a purpose to make a positive impact on the world,” he said after visiting Bernama headquarters today.

He added that HWUM looks forward to strengthening its ties with the news agency to gain a better understanding of its editorial focus,
areas of interest, and its diverse range of products and services.

‘We are thrilled about the prospect of exploring potential collaboration opportunities, including leveraging the expertise of our academic professionals through interviews, feature stories, research and other innovative collaborations.

‘Together, we are confident that we can forge meaningful and mutually beneficial partnerships that will enrich both our institutions and contribute positively to our broader community and nation-building endeavors for Malaysia and beyond,’ he added.

Established in 2012, HWUM is Malaysia’s first green campus, situated in Putrajaya. Committed to its “Purpose-Driven Education” approach, HWUM provides world-class programmes aimed at nurturing tomorrow’s purpose-driven leaders.
