Host Of Activities In Store For Melaka’s National Science Week Next Month

ALOR GAJAH, The Melaka-level National Science Week is set to take place next month, aimed at making science more accessible to the younger generation, especially students.

State Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Communication Committee chairman Datuk Fairul Nizam Roslan said the programme is being organised in partnership with the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (MOSTI) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Lendu.

‘A variety of activities, including a science carnival and exhibitions, will be held over two days at the end of October, with final details still being worked out.

‘The event is primarily aimed at school and tertiary students, not only to introduce them to science from an early age but also to ignite their passion for the field,’ he said.

He was speaking to reporters after a ceremony to hand over financial assistance to tertiary students from the Alor Gajah parliamentary constituency.

Meanwhile, Fairul Nizam, who is also Alor Gajah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman, said 111
students from the constituency who are continuing their higher education received one-off financial aid from the Melaka Education Trust Fund (Tapem), amounting to a total of RM48,400.

He said 91 diploma students each received RM400, while 20 degree students were granted RM600 each.
