GS Holdings Q2 net profit up 16.6 pct to 275.4 bln won


GS Holdings on Wednesday reported its second-quarter net profit of 275.4 billion won (US$199.8 million), up 16.6 percent from a year earlier.

The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 798.1 billion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 711.9 billion won a year ago. Revenue rose 1 percent to 6.2 trillion won.

The earnings fell behind market expectations. The average estimate of net profit by analysts stood at 371.1 billion won, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
