Group Courtesy Calls Open opportunities For More Federal Officers To Meet Wan Junaidi


KUCHING, The initiative by Astana Negeri Sarawak to organise large-scale group courtesy calls on Sarawak Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar has allowed 552 senior officers from 143 federal departments and agencies in the state to make such visits.

The Sarawak Governor’s Senior Private Secretary Datuk Seri Syed Hamzah Syed Paie said the first session of these group courtesy visits took place on Sept 11, involving 196 officers from 25 federal departments and agencies in Sarawak.

He said the second session, held on Oct 2, saw 191 officers from 51 federal departments and agencies in the development and economic sectors.

“Today, we are hosting 165 officers from 67 federal departments and agencies in the education and social sectors,” he said during the third session of a courtesy visit to Tun Wan Junaidi at Dewan Besar, Astana Negeri here today.

Tun Wan Junaidi’s wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi also attended the third courtesy visit, which was led by Sarawak Federal Secretary, Datuk Ahma
d Nadzri Mohd Hassan.

Syed Hamzah said Astana Negeri has received numerous requests for courtesy calls on Tun Wan Junaidi from various parties, but these could not all be accommodated due to time constraints.

“Therefore, to ensure that all federal agencies have the opportunity to conduct a courtesy visit to the Yang di-Pertua Negeri, we at Astana proposed grouping the agencies by sectors,” he said.

At the event, Tun Wan Junaidi also signed and gifted two of his authored books, titled Evolusi Parlimen dan Evolusi Speaker Parlimen and Kosa Kata dan Peribahasa Melayu Sarawak, to all officers in attendance.
