GEN-AI Carnival Showcases Local Entrepreneurs’ Products and Engages Youth with Informative Activities.


BUKIT MERTAJAM: The Generasi Ada Idea (GEN-AI) Carnival, held last Saturday, was a vibrant platform for visitors to engage in activities and for entrepreneurs to present their products.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fazill Akashah Othman, 52, an entrepreneur from the Penang National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) and manager of Jeruk Mutiara, was among those who showcased their products at the event. The carnival took place at the Gravitas parking lot, Jalan Baru Prai.

Fazill Akashah took part in the carnival to introduce over 11 types of pickled fruit products from his company. He explained that Jeruk Mutiara operates its own factory in Balik Pulau, where they process honey pickles. These pickle products, developed after attending various training courses, including online business, have helped Fazill increase his income and expand his market across the nation through a stockist system.

“Our fruit pickles are made with a traditional recipe without preservatives, using only white sugar, apple
cider vinegar, and honey, and they have received halal certification from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM),” Fazill shared at the GEN-AI Carnival. He aimed to introduce his company’s products to the public and find stockists interested in partnering with his brand.

Jeruk Mutiara reportedly generates monthly sales between RM35,000 to RM40,000, processing eight to nine tonnes of fruit into pickles each month.

Visitors to the GEN-AI Carnival, organised by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), found it engaging, with a range of activities especially appealing to youths. Nurul Husna Syukran, a 19-year-old student from Seberang Perai Polytechnic, participated in a cybersecurity talk titled ‘Klik Dengan Bijak’, gaining insights into digital proficiency and media literacy.

M. Vihaan, 21, who learned about the carnival through social media, expressed his satisfaction in attending, noting the valuable knowledge he gained, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI).

n addition to sales booths, the event featured sharing sessions by NADI, a career carnival, casual talks with artists and influencers, and a concert. The carnival was inaugurated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who also participated in a ‘Meet Anwar’ session, engaging with a group of youths.
