Firm pledges P35-M condo, cash for Yulo

MANILA: After bagging two gold medals at the Paris Olympics, listed company Megaworld Corp. has pledged a PHP35-million reward to Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo.

Megaworld, in a post in its official Facebook page, announced it will give away a fully furnished three-bedroom condominium in McKinley Hill in Taguig City.

Yulo, who became the first Filipino to win two gold medals at the Olympics after emerging on top of the artistic gymnastic’s Men’s Vault Final on Sunday, will also receive PHP3 million in cash from the firm.

On Saturday, he also ruled the men’s floor exercises, the Philippines’ first Olympic gold medal in gymnastics.

In its Facebook post, Megaworld said the reward recognizes Yulo’s “historic milestone of winning two gold medals during the Philippines’ 100th year of participating in the Olympic Games” as well as the company’s celebration of its 35th anniversary.

The PHP35-million reward is an upgrade from Megaworld’s initial pledge of a fully furnished two-bedroom unit worth PHP24 million.
