FAMA, TikTok Organise Live Marketing Course For Entrepreneurs With Disabilities

KUALA LUMPUR, The Federal Agricultural Development Authority (FAMA), with the help of TikTok Shop, organised an Upskilling Live Marketing course to boost the digital marketing skills of entrepreneurs with disabilities from Aug 2 to 4.

FAMA said the course, held in a hotel here, aimed to empower the entrepreneurs through the use of technology as well as boost awareness and social acceptance of people with disabilities (PwD), was attended by 18 entrepreneurs with disabilities and eight able entrepreneurs in the agrofood industry.

“Entrepreneurs with disabilities include those with physical disabilities as well as those visually impaired, and are registered with FAMA in producing agrofood.

“The course was taught by members of TikTok Shop, who provided an extraordinary learning experience to participants,’ the authority said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, FAMA Human Capital Development Division senior director Siti Nurul Haida Ibrahim expressed hope that the participants would be empowered through the expo
sure to latest technology and accurate digital marketing techniques taught during the course, and was proud when participants managed to rake in sales of RM7,520 in a two-hour live marketing session during the course.

‘FAMA is committed to supporting PwD in expanding their business and to raise awareness about the importance of supporting such entrepreneurs.

‘We hope that the initiative will inspire more entrepreneurs with disabilities to take the courageous step to benefit from digital platforms,’ she said.

A participant, Amir Mohsin Mohd Bahrudin, who sells ready-to-eat sambal products, said that the course opened his eyes to the huge potential of digital marketing via the TikTok Shop platform.

‘I learnt ways to create interesting and effective content and I’m convinced it will help me gain more customers and boost my income,’ he added.
