FAMA Organises Course To Boost Agro-food Product Competitiveness Using AI

KUALA LUMPUR,, The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) has organised a course to help its entrepreneurs improve their AI technology skills and boost the sales and competitiveness of their agro-food products in the market.

In a statement today, FAMA said the Upskilling Course on Theoretical and Practical Methods of Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Branding and Increasing Sales of Agro-Food Products took place over two days, beginning on 27 July, at their headquarters in Bandar Baru Selayang.

The course was attended by 25 companies, comprising FAMA-registered entrepreneurs engaged in producing agro-food products.

FAMA Human Capital Development Division senior director Siti Nurul Haida Ibrahim said in the same statement that organising the course was a proactive step by FAMA to empower agro-food entrepreneurs with the latest technological skills and knowledge.

‘Through this course, we hope entrepreneurs will leverage AI to enhance their business competitiveness and efficiency, from data an
alysis to automating marketing tasks.

‘This initiative will not only strengthen the position of local agro-food products in the market but also contribute to a more innovative and competitive agro-food sector globally,’ she said.

Meanwhile, Naim Asyraf Zakaria, a Dim Sum product entrepreneur from Ipoh, Perak, said the course greatly helped him understand how AI technology can be applied to enhance branding and increase product sales.

‘I now feel much more confident in applying AI to my marketing strategy and daily business operations. Thank you to FAMA for this incredibly valuable platform,’ he said.

According to the statement, the first day of the course began with an introduction to AI technology, followed by a session on ChatGPT and prompt creation, an analysis of six pre-business elements and seven targeted copywriting techniques, and concluded with a group presentation by the participants.

On the second day, the programme began with a session on image generation using Copilot, followed by a session
on using Canva for creating posters.

The programme continued with sessions on social media posts and website development before concluding with presentations of the participants’ websites and the handing out of participation certificates.
