DPWH completes P191-M road enhancement projects in Nueva Ecija

Manila: The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Wednesday reported the completion of two projects worth PHP191.2 million in the municipalities of Guimba and Zaragoza in the province of Nueva Ecija.

In a news release, DPWH 3 (Central Luzon) director Roseller Tolentino said the projects would enhance road safety and durability in these areas.

The completed projects involved the road repair and upgrading works implemented by DPWH Nueva Ecija 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) on portions of the Tarlac-Guimba Road in Barangay Banitan, Guimba and Sta. Rosa-Tarlac Road in Barangays H. Romero, Poblacion, and Sto. Rosario in Zaragoza town.

Tolentino said the asphalt overlaying covered 2.8 km. of road in Guimba, and 4.79 km. of road in Zaragoza.

“Reflectorized thermoplastic markings were also applied to alert drivers to potential hazards, thereby aiming to reduce accidents and enhance overall safety,’ he said.

Tolentino added both undertakings greatly benefited motorists by improving access to pu
blic transportation and reducing the risk of accidents for vehicles traveling between provinces.

The road projects were funded under the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
