Davao cops seize PHP1-M illegal drugs in 2-day ops


Davao: Authorities seized more than PHP1 million worth of illegal drugs during operations on Oct. 17 and 18, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 (Davao) reported Friday.

On Oct. 17, police confiscated about 113 grams of suspected shabu and 0.01 grams of marijuana, with an estimated street value of PHP768,795.

The following day, authorities seized 49.9 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP339,626.

During the two-day operations, PRO-11 arrested 26 individuals involved in illegal drug activities.

In a separate operation on Oct. 16, the Philippine National Police (PNP) and allied units dismantled a drug den in Barangay San Antonio, Mabini, Davao de Oro.

Multiple suspects were apprehended and authorities confiscated plastic sachets of suspected shabu worth PHP102,000, along with drug paraphernalia.

The suspects were taken to the Mabini Municipal Police Station and the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office, where charges are being prepared.

“This operation underscores PRO-11’s unwavering commitment to comba
ting illegal drugs and dismantling criminal organizations in the Davao Region,” PRO-11 acting Director, Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete, said in a statement.
