Construction worker yields P1.02-M shabu in Zambo anti-drug op

Authorities have arrested a construction worker, tagged as a high-value individual (HVI), and seized from him some PHP1.02 million worth of ‘shabu’ during an anti-drug operation in this city, the police said Tuesday.

In a report, the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group-Zamboanga Peninsula (PNPDEG-9) identified the arrested suspect as Munjimar Amdad, 33, of Sitio Asinan, Barangay Kasanyangan, this city.

The PNPDEG said the suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation Monday evening at a local mall in Barangay Tetuan.

Seized from the suspect were some 150 grams of suspected shabu placed in plastic packs, the boodle money, and a mobile phone.

The suspect was placed under the custody of the Zamboanga City Police Station 6 in preparation for the filing of a case for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Monday evening’s anti-drug operation came two days after authorities arrested three individuals and seized some PHP20.4 million worth of shabu in this city.
