KUALA LUMPUR, Bursa Malaysia remained higher at mid-afternoon supported by continuous buying in selected financial services and utilities counters.
At 3.10 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 3.10 points to 1,617.52 from Tuesday’s close of 1,614.42.
The key index opened 0.71 of-a-point easier at 1,613.71.
However, on the broader market, decliners led gainers 574 to 442, with 514 counters unchanged, 890 untraded and six suspended.
Turnover stood at 3.37 billion units worth RM2.07 billion.
Bursa heavyweights Maybank dropped four sen to RM10.02 and Tenaga Nasional fell two sen to RM14.40.
IHH Healthcare added one sen to RM6.31, Public Bank increased one sen to RM4.12 and CIMB expanded eight sen to RM7.05.
As for the most active counters, Dataprep perked up three sen to 24 sen, Cabnet advanced 12 sen to 71 sen, Bintai Kinden and Jaks Resources added one sen each to 11 sen and 18 sen respectively.

ose 33.78 points to 12,079.71, the FBM Emas Shariah Index bagged 33.63 points to 12,861.75, the FBM 70 Index widened 90.65 points to 18,554.75, and the FBM ACE Index gave up 1.51 points to 5,948.75.
Sector-wise, the Financial Services Index strengthened by 12.73 points to 17,722.50, the Plantation Index added 33.20 points to 6,965.32, the Industrial Products and Services Index went up 0.24 of-a-point to 200.33, while the Energy Index eased 2.20 points to 982.37.
