BuildXpo 2024 Partners With Gamuda To Showcase Sustainable Construction


KUALA LUMPUR, Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn Bhd (QUBE) has named Gamuda Bhd as a Platinum Sponsor for the Malaysia International Building and Construction Industry Showcase 2024 (BuildXpo 2024), which will take place from Oct 22 to 24 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), here.

In a statement, QUBE said Gamuda will showcase its regional expertise in digital transformation, renewable energy and green construction technologies.

‘This collaboration aligns with the event’s focus on future-oriented solutions and sustainable development in the sector,’ the statement said.

BuildXpo 2024 aims to foster innovation and technological advancement, with over 500 booths and 200 exhibitors expected to attract more than 15,000 trade visitors.

Hosted by the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB) and managed by QUBE, the event is endorsed by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and supported by the Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB).

er the theme ‘Envisioning the Future of Construction’, BuildXpo 2024 will spotlight key industry segments, including construction technology, materials, equipment, machinery, systems and services.

‘The exhibition will present technologies reshaping the industry, including advancements in three-dimensional printing, robotics, smart building systems, and industrialised building systems,’ it said.

In the same statement, Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi highlighted the importance of BuildXpo 2024 as a platform for industry professionals to explore solutions driving the construction sector forward.

‘It aligns with the Government’s focus on enhancing infrastructure and sustainable development, while also highlighting the diverse career opportunities available to young people in construction,’ he said.

QUBE executive chairman Richard Teo added that the event goes beyond a traditional trade show, offering hands-on experiences with cutting-edge construction technologies.

nstrations of smart building systems to live showcases of three-dimensional printing in construction, BuildXpo will offer insights into the future of our industry. The collaboration with Gamuda Berhad significantly enhances our ability to present advanced sustainable construction practices,” he said.

Meanwhile, Gamuda Engineering managing director Justin Chin Jing Ho noted that their participation reflects Gamuda’s dedication to sustainable construction and innovation.

‘Aligning closely BuildXpo’s objectives, we look forward to engaging with industry partners to share our regional expertise and support the Government’s focus on enhancing infrastructure, upskilling the local talent pool, and strengthening the supply chain,’ he said.

The exhibition will also include an ‘Innovation Hub’ spotlighting start-ups and emerging technologies set to influence the construction landscape.

The hub will offer a platform for young entrepreneurs and innovators to showcase their ideas and connect with established industry
players.

BuildXpo 2024 will feature a series of technical seminars and product demonstrations, offering insights into the latest industry trends and applications of new technologies, covering topics such as sustainable construction materials, artificial intelligence in construction management, and the integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) in building systems.
