Budget 2025: Defence Ministry To Focus On Four Key Areas

KUALA LUMPUR, The Ministry of Defence will prioritise four key areas with the RM21.13 billion allocated under the 2025 Budget.

The areas are the welfare of defence personnel, military readiness and national border defence, international defence relations, and patriotism as the nation’s defensive stronghold.

In a statement today, the Defence Ministry announced that the allocation represents an increase of approximately 7.08 per cent compared to last year’s RM19.7 billion.

Of the total, RM13.64 billion is for operational expenditure, while RM7.49 billion is for development.

“The 2025 Budget for the Ministry of Defence will certainly boost the determination and morale of defence personnel to improve readiness in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty.

“The Ministry of Defence and the Malaysian Armed Forces will make every effort to ensure the allocation is used transparently, prudently, and with integrity, for a secure, sovereign, and prosperous nation,” said the statement.
