Budget 2025 Approves 14 Initiatives For Housing And Local Government – Nga

KUALA LUMPUR, Budget 2025 has approved 14 financial initiatives under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, including RM200 million for the maintenance of low-cost public housing, says its minister, Nga Kor Ming.

He added that this also included RM289 million for the construction and upgrading of markets, RM100 million for the MADANI recreational park, and nearly RM1 billion allocated for social and affordable housing.

“We are motivated to serve better and will continue to focus on improving the living quality of the people and promoting sustainable urbanisation.

‘It is clear that Budget 2025 is impressive, progressive, inclusive, and sustainable.

‘Despite the mounting challenges to our financial position and regional conflicts, the Budget moves forward in line with the MADANI Economy framework, reducing the fiscal deficit from 6 per cent in 2022 to 3.8 per cent next year,’ he said, commenting on the tabling of Budget 2025 by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday.

He noted that the Budget was also implementing necessary reforms, including targeted subsidies for RON95, which would save the government RM8 billion to boost the country’s development.”

Additionally, to provide a social safety net, RM15.9 billion will be allocated to assist the hardcore poor, B40, and M40 groups, with the lowest-income families receiving RM13,000 in financial aid.

This, Nga said, “was a manifestation of how the MADANI government cares for the people.”

“This social welfare allocation is the highest in history,” he added.
