Bernama TV’s Technical Engineering Head Receives Tabung Kasih@HAWANA Assistance

KUALA LUMPUR, Norhamidi Bunawan, Head of Technical Engineering at Bernama TV, who recently suffered a brain haemorrhage after collapsing at his residence in Puncak Jalil, Seri Kembangan, received a contribution from Tabung Kasih@HAWANA today.

The contribution was presented to Norhamidi, 51, at his residence, by Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Chief Executive Officer, Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, and Editor-in-Chief, Arul Rajoo Durar Raj.

Also present were Mohd Shukri Ishak, Head of Bernama TV and Radio Broadcasting Department, and Head of TV, Norhamzeela Md Hambali.

Norhamidi’s wife, Razilla Nazaran, 51, expressed her gratitude for the contribution, noting that it would help alleviate the family’s burden.

‘We are deeply thankful for this assistance, which we see as a gesture of support and a prayer for my husband’s swift recovery,’ she said.

‘The prompt actions of the Bernama management have been instrumental in helping us apply for other forms of assistance and related support,’ Razilla told Bernam

Meanwhile, Nur-ul Afida mentioned that, in addition to Norhamidi, the team also visited Ahmad Shukran Shaharudin, Deputy Head of the Strategic Planning Division at Bernama, who was injured in a road accident while commuting to work.

‘Through Tabung Kasih @Hawana, we are able to provide some assistance for their medical needs. We hope that today’s visit offers them encouragement for a swift recovery. Our prayers are with them for the best possible treatment, and a return to their normal work routines,’ she said.

Tabung Kasih@HAWANA, established in conjunction with the National Journalists’ Day (HAWANA) 2023 celebration, aims to support journalists and media personnel in need of assistance, whether still in service, retired or elderly.

It is an initiative of the Ministry of Communications, implemented through Bernama.
