Bernama staff affected by floods receive contributions from Kasih@Bernama, Mydin Prihatin

KUALA TERENGGANU– The National News Agency of Malaysia (Bernama) in displaying its caring initiative towards its staff who were affected by the recent floods in Terengganu, contributed cash aid and basic necessities to ease their burden.

Bernama’s Head of Management Services and Finance, Sharifah Zaini Syed Zain said the contribution was made possible through a stragetic partnership with Mydin Bhd under the Kasih@Bernama, Mydin Prihatin programme.

“The contributions were an attribution of Bernama’s concern towards the suffering of the staff who were affected by the floods in the East Coast state,” said Sharifah after presenting the contributions to two Bernama staff from the Terengganu bureau, here today.

Sharifah Zaini said every staff affected by the floods received two boxes of food products, mattress, stove, gas cyclinder, cupboard and powerbank worth RM500.

“Bernama contributed cash aid through its Welfare Fund according to the provisions of the fund, to staff who were affected by the floods while Mydin Bhd as the strategic partner contributed vouchers to purchase goods from the hypermarket,” she said.

Sharifah Zaini hoped the contributions would in a small way help ease the burden of those affected by the floods.

She added that staff from the Kelantan bureau who were also affected by the floods in December would receive a similar contribution.
