Bernama Hands Over Contributions To Family Of Late Ahmad Hafiz Azhar


MELAKA, The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) today handed over contributions to the family of Astro AWANI video editor Ahmad Hafiz Azhar Nordin, 36, who died in a road accident on Monday.

Bernama chief executive officer Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin presented the contributions to Ahmad Hafiz Azhar’s wife, Nur Farrah Hanna Ibrahim, 35, at their house in Taman Paya Rumput Perdana, Cheng. Nur Farrah Hanna is an assistant manager at Bernama’s Administration and Facilities Division.

“Today, on behalf of Tabung Kasih@HAWANA I presented the donation to Nur Farrah Hanna, along with contributions from the Bernama Welfare Fund and the Association for Women and Wives of Bernama Employees (Benita),” she told the reporter.

She said Ahmad Hafiz Azhar was a former Bernama TV staff member before moving to Astro AWANI, adding that the tragedy is deeply shocking and heartbreaking because the couple had just welcomed their second son.

Division head Mariati Mohd Arif, and Human Resources manager Marzukhi Md Salleh were also present.

According to Nur-ul Afida, the news agency will assist Nur Farrah Hanna, especially in providing advice on making claims related to her husband’s death so that the family can carry on with their lives.

“We deeply sympathise and pray for Nur Farrah Hanna to remain strong and resilient for her children,” she said.

Meanwhile, Nur Farrah Hanna expressed her gratitude for the support and assistance she has received since the day her husband passed away.

In the 7.46 am incident, Ahmad Hafiz Azhar, 36, fondly known as Randy, was killed on his way to work after his motorcycle skidded at Km8.5 of the Maju Expressway (MEX).

He was pronounced dead at the scene due to head injuries.

He is survived by his wife and sons, aged five years and nine months.

Ahmad Hafiz Azhar was also a Junior Lieutenant in the Malaysian Maritime Volunteer Corps (PSMM). He had been active with the PSMM since its establishment in 2018 when i
t had an initial membership of 15 officers.
