Anwar Calls On FAM To Provide Plan, KPI For Harimau Malaya – KBS

KUALA LUMPUR, The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has been asked by the Prime Minister to prepare a strategic plan and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to ensure the improvement of the Harimau Malaya squad’s performance.

In a statement, the Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) said this request was made by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during a meeting with the FAM leadership today.

‘This request was made following the government’s commitment to allocate RM15 million to support efforts to strengthen the national team, including the national under-23 squad. The allocation will be monitored periodically by the Ministry of Finance and KBS.

“The Prime Minister also emphasised the government’s commitment to strengthening the national sports ecosystem, and the allocation for Harimau Malaya will not reduce the funding provided to other sports,” according to the statement.

Meanwhile, KBS announced that it will seek assistance from the Asian Football Confederation to conduct a review of the effectiveness of the Nati
onal Football Development Programme, managed by the National Sports Council, so that improvements could be made.
