“Angkatan Masa Hadapan Benteng Pertahanan Negara” Theme For 91st MAF Day Celebrations

The theme ‘Angkatan Masa Hadapan Benteng Pertahanan Negara’ for the 91st Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) Day celebrations, scheduled from Oct 4 to 6 at Segenting Camp, Port Dickson, has been selected to highlight the MAF’s transformation efforts for the better.

MAF Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel Services, Brig Gen Hamdan Ahmad, said the theme reflects the forces’ planning to improve their readiness in terms of technology, work processes, and other key aspects that can enhance performance.

He said that, based on the essence of several defence documents, such as the Defence White Paper, a detailed plan has been put in place to position the MAF as future forces, with the first phase now underway. ‘Among the characteristics of the future forces are togetherness, interoperability, technology-based capabilities, the ability to operate in two regions simultaneously, a mission-oriented focus, and logistical efficiency.

‘Through this plan we aim for the MAF to enhance all existing aspects and meet thes
e characteristics by 2030,’ he said when appearing as a guest on Bernama TV’s Apa Khabar Malaysia programme today.

According to Hamdan, the procurement of new assets for the MAF will be carried out in line with the 13th Malaysia Plan.

Meanwhile, he said this year’s MAF Day celebrations will feature a range of exciting activities for visitors, such as a static combat parade and a dynamic demonstration, with the opening event set to be officiated by Chief of Defence Force Gen Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman.

In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to see 264 MAF assets on display, featuring Gempita, Adnan, Lipan Bara, and Supercat armoured vehicles, alongside Royal Malaysian Navy ships KD Mahawangsa and KD Jebat, as well as aircraft like the C130, A400, SU-30, F-18, Hawk, and EC725.

‘I hope that the event will help the public gain a better understanding of the MAF’s role, and it will also serve as an appreciation for the unwavering support given to the forces over the past 91 years,’ Hamdan said when met
by reporters.
