‘Amihan’ to bring light rains across Luzon

MANILA: The weather bureau said light rains may be experienced across Luzon on Thursday due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan” affecting the island.

Cloudy skies and light rains will prevail over Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 5 a.m. weather bulletin.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, on the other hand, are forecast over the rest of Luzon.

PAGASA said the easterlies will continue to prevail over the rest of the country. Both the easterlies and localized thunderstorms will cause isolated rain showers over the Visayas and Mindanao.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over Northern Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
