ACT-CIS donates rice, cash aid to ‘Kristine’ victims in Bicol

House Deputy Majority Leader Rep. Erwin Tulfo on Friday said the ACT-CIS Party-list has donated a total of 2,000 sacks of rice and P1-million financial assistance to victims of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name Trami) in the Bicol region.

‘This is a humble contribution from ACT-CIS and the Erwin Tulfo Action Center. This is our way of helping our kababayans (countrymen) in Bicol who are victims of the flooding,’ the ACT-CIS Party-list congressman said.

Tulfo said he instructed his chief-of-staff Jerico Javier to deliver the cash donation and 1,000 sacks of rice to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) which would take charge in distributing the assistance.

Tulfo and Javier are commodore and commander of PCG Auxiliary, respectively.

He said the PHP1 million was a personal donation from Yap siblings — Rep. Eric of Benguet Lone District and Edvic, who is also an ACT-CIS Party-list representative.

The office Tulfo and ACT-CIS Party-list have also donated 500 sacks of rice to the Angat Buhay Fou
ndation of former Vice President Leni Robredo while the remaining 500 sacks were distributed to Iriga City residents affected by the storm.

‘We, at ACT-CIS, would not stop in providing help, whether or not there is a calamity. We would continue to extend help and would look for ways on how we could provide more assistance to our fellow Filipinos,’ Jeff Soriano of ACT-CIS Party-list said.
