3 suspects yield P2.1M shabu in Iloilo City drug sting


ILOILO CITY: A 24-hour anti-drug operation of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) yielded close to 316 grams of shabu with an estimated value of over PHP2.1 million.

The operations from 4 a.m. on Oct. 2 to 4 a.m. on Oct. 3 also led to the arrest of three high-value individuals.

The biggest haul occurred at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday in Barangay Boulevard, Molo, where 200 grams of shabu worth PHP1.3 million was recovered.

Operatives seized 11 transparent plastic sachets containing shabu from suspect alias ‘Stephen’ a resident of Barangay South San Jose, the ICPO’s statement said on Thursday.

Another buy-bust in Barangay Calajunan, Mandurriao resulted in the arrest of alias ‘Iren’, 48, and a resident of Barangay Buyu-an in Tigbauan town and recovered around 50 grams of shabu valued at PHP340,000.

Another operation at 3:20 p.m. of Wednesday yielded 66 grams of shabu worth PHP448,000 and arrested alias 59-year-old suspect alias ‘Jerry Boy’ in Barangay Veterans Village, City Proper.

commended the relentless efforts of the officers for these accomplishments in the ongoing anti-drug campaign.
