2 Grade 11 students slain in North Cotabato

Two junior high school students were killed in an ambush Sunday night in a remote village here, police said. In a report on Monday, Maj. John Arvin Cambang, town police station chief, said Jamer Ebrahim, 21; and Muhaliden Amer, 20, both of Barangay Poblacion, died on the spot. Investigation showed that victims were riding on a motorbike heading for home when they were ambushed on the border of Ladtingan and Kalawag villages. The victims bore multiple gunshot wounds. Responding police found empty shells for caliber .45 pistol at the scene. The ambush came amid the strict election gun ban here.
