1,667 C. Visayas workers get P55.1-M monetary awards via DOLE program

A total of 1,667 workers received PHP55.1 million worth of monetary awards facilitated through the Single-Entry Approach (SEnA) in settling labor disputes, a labor official said on Tuesday.

Lilia Estillore, regional director of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 7 (Central Visayas), said in a media release that the amount was disbursed after settlement agreements from January to September 2024.

The SEnA Unit at DOLE-7 based in Cebu City handled a total of 1,511 requests for assistance and settled 96.52 percent of cases during the period.

These accomplishments cover the SEnA proceedings in Cebu province and the tri-cities of Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapulapu.

The labor cases included illegal dismissal, non-payment of holiday and service incentive leave, and backwages if reinstatement was not possible.
