UDA DISTRIBUTES RM58,000 TITHE AID TO NEEDY CHILDREN IN KLANG VALLEY

UDA Holdings Berhad (UDA) has distributed RM58,000 tithe aid to children from poor households and orphans around the Klang Valley this year through its ‘UDA Cares’ corporate social responsibility programme.

Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Minister (KUSKOP) Datuk Ewon Benedick said the programme is an annual UDA event to help the needy.

“I really appreciate the commitment and initiative of UDA and also other agencies under the ministry who want to help asnaf children in conjunction with the month of Ramadan,” he said after handing over the donation at a UDA breaking-fast ceremony with the media at Boathouse, Ampang, which was also attended by UDA president and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Mohd Salem Kailany.

A total of RM10,000 was channelled to five non-governmental organisations (NGOs), namely the Kuala Lumpur Nur Iman Care Centre, the KL Nur Syaheera Welfare Organisation, Rumah Permata Hatiku, Shifa Orphanage and the Baitu Saidati Khadijah Orphans and Poor Welfare Organisation for Ramadan and the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
