TVET Tahfiz Programme Continues To Show Positive Progress – Ahmad Zahid

The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme in Tahfiz centres is making significant strides, with 622 Tahfiz students currently honing their skills in technology and professional fields.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said through this initiative, 17 hufaz have already secured employment, including opportunities in the aviation industry.

As the chairman of the National TVET Council, he expressed strong optimism that the hufaz undergoing training will find positions with both multinational corporations and local enterprises upon graduation.

‘I take great pride in the achievements of institutions like UniKL Malaysia Institute of Aviation Technology (MIAT) and the MARA Skills Institute (IKM) in Lumut, which have been instrumental in producing a new generation of TVET Tahfiz graduates.

‘These individuals are not only technologically adept but also professional huffaz, contributing significantly to various sectors,’ Ahmad Zahid, who is also Rural and Regional D
evelopment Minister, told newsmen after officiating the TVET@KKDW 2024 Education Institution Expo: Strengthening the National TVET Agenda at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh today.

He said the Rural and Regional Development Ministry (KKDW) is vigorously implementing the TVET Tahfiz programme, which seamlessly integrates Islamic education with technical skills, aiming to cultivate a skilled and knowledgeable hufaz workforce.

The expo, running for three days from today, marks its sixth year of implementation, featuring participation and collaboration from 279 TVET institutions across seven KKDW agencies.
