Tun Juhar Accorded Rank Of Honorary Maritime Rear Admiral By MMEA

The Yang Dipertua of Sabah Tun Juhar Mahiruddin was accorded the rank of Honorary Maritime Rear Admiral by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), yesterday.

MMEA Acting Director-General (Maritime) Vice Admiral Datuk Saiful Lizan Ibrahim said the awarding of the honorary rank has created its own history since it was the first awarded to the Yang Dipertua of a State.

He also expressed MMEA’s gratitude for Tun Juhar’s willingness to accept the rank.

‘The awarding of this honorary rank is a sign of our appreciation to Tun Juhar as well as the Sabah government for fully supporting Maritime Malaysia and ensuring the safety of Sabah’s waters is always maintained,’ he said in a statement today.

Also present to witness the ceremony was Sabah Police Commissioner, Datuk Jauteh Dikun, Acting Deputy Director General of Maritime (Operations) Malaysia, Rear Admiral (Maritime) Datuk Mohd Rosli Abdullah, State Maritime Director of Sabah and Labuan, Maritime First Admiral Datuk Che Engku Suhaimi Che Engku Daik
and senior officers of Maritime Malaysia.
