Trump tops Biden in US 2024 presidential survey

MANILA: President Joe Biden is trailing former President Donald Trump, according to a recent survey, months before this year’s presidential elections.

The Marquette Law School national survey released Thursday showed that 51 percent of voters expressed their intention to vote for the former President while 49 percent favored Biden.

The survey was conducted from Feb. 5 to 15.

When accounting for potential voters, Trump’s support increased by one point to 52 percent, whereas Biden’s went down by one point at 48 percent.

Survey participants said that if the presidential candidate were former UN Ambassador and former Governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley, 58 percent would support the Republican Party, while Biden’s support would decrease to 42 percent, in this equation.

When asked about their preference for the Republican Party’s presidential candidate, 73 percent of undecided voters chose Trump, while 15 percent opted for Haley.

Despite those favoring Biden having a 66 percent advantage in the survey ques
tion about the Democratic primaries, it was noted that 27 percent of voters remained undecided.

Furthermore, voters stated that they trusted Trump more on issues related to immigration, border security, and the economy, whereas they leaned towards Biden on matters concerning abortion policy, healthcare, and social security services.
