Tourism Malaysia Offers 23 Tour Packages For LTdL Spectators


KUALA LUMPUR, The 2024 Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) race from Sept 29 to Oct 6 will be enhanced with Tourism Malaysia collaborating with six travel agencies to offer 23 special packages for spectators to follow the pulse of the prestigious race.

Tourism Malaysia director-general Datuk Manoharan Periasamy said the packages offered will cover popular tourist destinations such as Langkawi, Penang, Melaka, Bukit Tinggi, Cameron Highlands, Kulai, Bintulu and Miri which have challenging terrain and breathtaking scenery.

‘Through this packages, tourists will not only be able to enjoy a wonderful holiday in interesting locations, but also have the opportunity to directly witness the prestigious LTdL race that will wind throughout the country,’ he said in a speech read out by his deputy Saidi Bundan today.

The speech was for the Tourism Malaysia Smart Sponsorship and Collaboration Announcement ceremony and Le Tour de Langkawi 2024 media conference at the National Sports Council (NSC), Bukit Jalil here today.

he meantime, Saidi said the cycling public who are interested in knowing more can visit Tourism Malaysia’s social media sites to get a QR code that contains all the information about the tour packages.

‘There are six travel agencies involved in the preparation of these packages, four from Kuala Lumpur, one from Negeri Sembilan and one from Johor. So the itineraries of these package are various, we have distributed them to all overseas offices, especially from Southeast Asia and Europe.

‘Cooperation like this can give huge returns to the tourism industry and sponsors in the long term,’ he said.

Earlier, Tourism Malaysia agreed to continue the strategic collaboration with the 2024 LTdL race with a sponsorship of RM1 million to become sponsor of the Polka Dot (King of the Mountain) jersey.

NSC director-general Abdul Rashid Yaakub said Tourism Malaysia’s decision to continue the strategic cooperation proved that the decision made was a correct one because it provided great returns on promotion, branding and m
arketing akin to its slogan ‘Truly Asia’.

‘Tourism Malaysia will be honoured once again as the rights holder of the ‘King of the Mountain’ winner’s jersey where team representatives will wear the winner’s jersey at each stage of the race,’ he said.
