Thinaah Graduates With TESL Degree And Receives OUM Sports Icon Award


KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 (Bernama) – National women’s doubles badminton player M. Thinaah graduated today with a Bachelor of Education (Teaching English as a Second Language) with Honours programme, also known as BETESL from Open University Malaysia (OUM).

In a statement on its official Facebook page, OUM announced that Thinaah not only completed her BETESL program but also received the Special University Award: Sports Icon.

On Feb 28, OUM awarded Thinaah a scholarship to cover semesters from Jan 2023 until May 2024.

Thinaah, who began her studies at OUM in May 2020, shared that she has been passionate about the English language since childhood.

Currently, Thinaah and her partner, Pearly Tan, are ranked seventh in the world.
