Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin Graces World Animal Day 2024

Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin today attended the World Animal Day 2024 celebration held at the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Selangor, Ampang near here.

Upon arrival at 10.50 am, Her Royal Highness was warmly welcomed by SPCA Selangor chairman Christine Chin.

Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin spent nearly two hours at the event, during which she presented awards of appreciation to 13 recipients, including sponsors, animal rescuers and caregivers, as part of the Potong Royong and Stray Free Selangor (SFS) initiative in August.

This initiative aims to reduce the number of stray animals through a field project focused on spaying and neutering them, ultimately enhancing public health and safety.

Her Royal Highness also visited several animal exhibition booths before departing at 1 pm.

World Animal Day, celebrated on Oct 4, advocates for animal welfare and promotes the humane treatment of all animals.
