Tanjung Bidara Beach Festival To Become Annual Affair – Melaka CM

ALOR GAJAH, The Tanjung Bidara Beach Festival will be made into an annual event as one of the programmes to enliven Malaysia Day celebrations in Melaka.

Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said the festival will be held from next year with the state government setting the celebration dates on Sept 13-15.

‘The robust reception for activities like this will indirectly intensify and revive the merriment in Tanjung Bidara, in addition to promoting rural tourism areas in conjunction with the Visit Melaka Year 2024 (TMM2024).

‘For that to materialise, changes and new developments like facilities will be implemented on this beach and we will submit the plans to the federal government for approval,’ he said.

He said this after officiating the festival here today, which saw more than 20,000 visitors flocking to the various exciting programmes held throughout the day.

He said the plan would also provide economic benefits to residents, especially small traders and homestay operators.

‘It will also be p

In the meantime, Ab Rauf said the state government will hold a 2024 TikTok Creative Content competition in conjunction with TMM2024 from October to the end of the year.

‘I can see that many people like to take selfies and take videos, so this is their chance to win RM5,000. So get your creative juices flowing on the (Tik Tok) platform by composing interesting videos.

‘Various categories will be offered to enable anyone to participate in this competition, where the video content must be new material capable of attracting tourists to Melaka,’ he said.
