Super League: Injury-hit Sabah to play Selangor at home tomorrow

KOTA KINABALU, Sabah FC will play Selangor FC in their Super League match at home at Stadlum Likas here tomorrow without four main players due to injury.

Sabah head coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee said team captain Park Taesu, along with Gabriel Peres, Miguel Cifuentes, and national player Stuart Wilkin were still on the team’s injury list, adding that Selangor would certainly be out to register a good result ahead of their FA Cup final against Johor Darul Ta’zim FC on Aug 24.

‘For Sabah, our (3-2) win against Sri Pahang FC in Temerloh on (Friday) was very positive for us to prepare against Selangor tomorrow night.

‘We know Selangor won away previously and qualified for the FA Cup, so they definitely will put up a tough fight in Kota Kinabalu,’ he said in a statement tonight.

Sabah is currently fourth in the Super League with 13 points from seven matches, while Selangor is second with 16 points from eight matches.

Kim Swee said Sabah would not underestimate their opponents tomorrow but will try to get all play
ers ready.

‘We know based on record, Sabah has an advantage playing at home due to our strong support from fans.

‘What’s important is that all players are ready physically and mentally and to be committed to achieving a positive result tomorrow night,’ he added.
