SULTAN SELANGOR, TENGKU PERMAISURI ATTEND STATE BANQUET IN KUCHING

KUCHING, The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, who are on a four-day official visit to Sarawak, attended a state banquet at the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly here tonight (Nov 6).

The royal couple were accompanied by the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife, Puan Sri Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang; Sarawak deputy premiers Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian; ministers and deputy ministers also attended the banquet.

Earlier, Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin visited the Sarawak branch of the Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation, Fort Magherita and Juma’ani Pavilion.

This is the first time the royal couple have visited Kuching during an official visit to Sarawak.

After the four-day visit, which began on Saturday (Nov 4), Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin are scheduled to return to Selangor on a special flight departing the Kuching International Airport at 11.30 am tomorrow.
