Sultan Nazrin Opens Menara SSM Perak

IPOH, The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, today officially opened the Menara Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) Perak on Jalan Basco Kepayang here.

Sultan Nazrin Shah and Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim arrived at 11 am, accompanied by Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and his wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin.

Also present were the Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, and Raja Kecil Tengah Raja Datuk Seri Iskandar Raja Zira.

Also in attendance were Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, SSM chairman Ahmad Sabki Yusof and SSM chief executive officer Datuk Nor Azimah Abdul Aziz.

In his speech, Armizan said that according to SSM statistics, as of Aug 31, a total of 61,692 companies had been incorporated, and 795,350 businesses as well as 1,073 Limited Liability Partnerships (LLP) from Perak had been registered with SSM.

“Out of this total, 26,127 companies, 150,397 businesses and 972 LLPs are active.

“As one of Malaysia’s rapidly developing states, I
am confident, these numbers will continue to grow in the future, serving as a catalyst for higher economic growth to achieve the targets and aspirations of the Perak government and the nation,” he said.

Touching on the Menara SSM Perak, Armizan said the 10-storey building, which began operations in 2021, spans 175,853 square feet and is equipped with various amenities and infrastructure such as parking, convenience stores, cafes and surau, along with 24-hour security.

“In delivering services to the business community in Perak, SSM, which occupies the ground floor, also generates income by renting out other floors in the tower,’ he said.

He added that the Menara SSM Perak reflects continuous efforts to enhance the quality of services and facilities provided to customers, making it a central hub for the needs of business entities in the state.

“It is also a manifestation of the government’s commitment to providing the best facilities for the people, especially in matters related to business entity registrat
ion, corporate law compliance and the implementation of transparent and responsible corporate practices.

“This initiative reflects the government’s diligent efforts to ensure that every aspect of business entity management is conducted with full integrity and effectiveness,” he added.
