Sultan Ibrahim Recalls Memorable National Day Moment Involving His Late Father

KUALA LUMPUR, In conjunction with the 67th National Day today, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, reminisced about the National Day celebration 38 years ago when his late father, then Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Iskandar Ismail, graced the event at Dataran Merdeka.

Sultan Ibrahim shared a @bernamaofficial post on his official Facebook page, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, featuring two photos of his late father riding a motorcycle belonging to one of the participants during the celebration.

According to the @bernamaofficial post, the late Sultan Iskandar, renowned for his passion for high-powered motorcycles, left spectators in awe as he stepped off the viewing dais and mounted a Kawasaki motorbike.

‘Thirty-eight years ago, in 1986, an unforgettable moment captivated millions of viewers during the National Day parade at Dataran Merdeka, both on-site and watching TV.

Sultan Ibrahim and the Queen of Malaysia Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah graced the 2024 National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya today.

It was the first time Their Majesties were attending National Day celebrations since Sultan Ibrahim was sworn in as the 17th King of Malaysia on Jan 31.
