SUKMA 2024: Perlis Regent Reminds State’s Athletes To Maintain High Level Of Discipline


The Perlis contingent has been reminded to maintain a high level of discipline and to ensure their safety and health during the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2024 in Sarawak, which will be held from Aug 17 to 24.

The Regent of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail advised the athletes to avoid unhealthy practices related to doping and corruption, and to fully focus on competing with high sportsmanship.

“Those selected to represent Perlis should uphold and honour the name of our state, and strive with determination to ensure that your sacrifices are rewarded. Insya-Allah, success will be on your side,” His Royal Highness said.

He said this when officiating the Perlis Contingent Flag Handover Ceremony for SUKMA Sarawak 2024 at the Tuanku Syed Putra Stadium here last night. Also present was Raja Puan Muda Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil.

His Royal Highness also congratulated and praised the athletes who were selected and qualified to represent Perlis at SUKMA 2024 after endu
ring various challenges, hardships, selections, tests, and qualification tournaments.

The Perlis contingent for SUKMA 2024 consists of 284 athletes and 114 officials and will participate in 28 sports, including shooting, sailing, weightlifting, badminton, hockey, and archery. A 10-gold target has been set for the contingent.
