He highlighted the potential of various sports activities in attracting more tourists both domestically and internationally, aiming to meet the target of eight million tourists.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amiruddin mentioned plans to include cycling and pickleball events in the annual calendar. He also pointed out the availability of two paragliding sites in Jugra and Kuala Kubu Bharu as part of the sports tourism attractions. These announcements were made during the unveiling of the Visit Selangor Year 2025 logo at the Selangor Tourism pavilion, coinciding with the Malaysian MotoGP 2024.

Last year, Selangor welcomed 6.45 million tourists, and this year’s target is set at seven million. To achieve these goals, Amiruddin revealed that the state government is reviewing several plans in t

Regarding the Malaysian MotoGP 2024, Amiruddin stated that the event is projected to attract 200,000 visitors on its final day, with the competition spanning three days starting Friday. Such events are envisioned as models to promote tourism in Selangor, providing a significant boost to the state’s tourism sector.

Tourism Selangor organized various initiatives during the Malaysian MotoGP 2024 to showcase the state’s tourism potential, including exhibitions focused on extreme tourism, food, and local fruits.
