Special Grant For Indian Community Cooperatives Attending PKKI 2024 – Ramanan

KUALA LUMPUR, The Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP) through the Cooperative Commission of Malaysia (SKM) today announced a special grant for Indian community cooperatives amounting to up to RM30,000.

Deputy Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said the application for the funds is specific to cooperatives attending the 2024 Indian Community Cooperatives Conference (PKKI) 2024 at the Bank Rakyat Twin Towers here today.

“This fund aims to strengthen the economic activities of cooperatives and information on the application methods and conditions can be obtained from SKM after the conference,’ he told reporters.

Earlier in his speech, he said, the government is allocating RM300,000 in special grants for Indian community cooperatives.

Meanwhile, commenting on KUSKOP’s initiative to help Indian entrepreneurs, Ramanan said that as of last Sept 30, RM136 million in additional allocations had been disbursed.

“These programs aim to empower Indian entrepreneurs to a higher level and further i
mprove the well-being of the Indian community in the country’, he said.

At the event, he presented replica cheques amounting to more than RM7 million from the Revolving Capital Fund (TMP-SKM) to the three best cooperatives, namely Koperasi Serbaguna Kebangsaan Berhad, Koperasi Guru-guru Tamil Negeri Sembilan Berhad and Koperasi Nesa Pelbagai Berhad.

TMP-SKM aims to assist cooperatives registered under the Cooperative Act 1993 (Act 502) that are monitored by SKM in funds to implement viable projects.
