Salary Adjustment: Civil Servants’ Sacrifices, Dedication Appreciated – CUEPACS


PUTRAJAYA: The implementation of salary adjustments under the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) proves that the government appreciates civil servants’ contributions, said Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (CUEPACS) president Datuk Dr Adnan Mat.

He said that although salaries had not been revised for 12 years, the government’s announcement of the salary adjustment reassured civil servants that their sacrifices and dedication were appreciated.

As such, he called on all civil servants to strive for improved service quality.

‘We’ve been diligently working and providing services all this time; that’s why the government is considering a salary increase.

‘With this increase, we must work to enhance our service delivery to better serve the people,’ he told reporters after attending the 19th edition of Majlis Amanat Perdana Perkhidmatan Awam (MPPA XIX) 2024 programme.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today announced a 15 per cent salary adjustment to civil servants in
the Implementing, Management and Professional groups, and seven per cent for those in the Top Management group.

Adnan also reminded that the SSPA demands civil servants maintain good performance, with policy reforms such as raising the minimum annual performance appraisal score for acting and promotion to 85 per cent, and replacing the Annual Performance Appraisal Report with the MyPERFORMANCE system.

‘It also outlines the increase (salary adjustment) will not apply to those who do not perform well. The government places high importance on civil servants’ performance,’ he said.
