Sabah Muafakat Nasional Dissolved – Chairman

KOTA KINABALU, All 30 committee members decided to withdraw from Sabah Muafakat Nasional (MN) during a meeting yesterday and dissolve the non-governmental organisation (NGO) effective today.

Sabah MN chairman Jismit Japong said the committee had lost confidence in MN central leadership, including its chairman Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

He said the central leadership did not consult the state committee regarding the appointment of two Supreme Council members despite having previously granted them autonomy.

“The appointments contradict MN principles and concepts, as matters related to Sabah MN management and administration should also involve the state committee to ensure the integrity of MN is intact,” he told reporters here today.

Jismit said the dissolution letter will be submitted to the central MN within 14 days, adding that they plan to establish a new NGO focusing on welfare and economic development in Sabah.

According to the official website (https://muafakatnasional.org.my/), MN is not a political part
y but an NGO registered with the Registrar of Societies.
