Romualdez on improved ratings: I will continue to work hard

Manila: House Speaker Martin Romualdez on Tuesday thanked the public for his improved satisfaction and trust numbers, based on the results of the latest Tangere survey.

‘I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the trust and confidence that our people have placed in me, as reflected in the recent survey results,’ he said in a statement.

According to the survey conducted on Sept. 16 to 19, Romualdez’s satisfaction rating increased from 45.55 percent to 46.3 percent, while his trust rating rose from 56 percent to 56.4 percent.

‘These numbers may seem like small figures to some but to me, they represent the collective faith of Filipinos I have the privilege to serve every single day,’ he added.

The Leyte’ 1st District congressman posted a strong showing in Northern Luzon, Central Luzon and Eastern Visayas, the survey data showed.

“I am especially grateful for the warm support from the Visayas region, where my roots are deeply grounded. You have always been there for me and I will continue to work hard t
o be worthy of your unwavering trust,’ he said.

He said that while public service is not easy, the notion that they are making a difference in the lives of Filipinos through the passage of laws and implementation of government programs for the needy “fuels my commitment to serve even more.”

“Each point of increase in trust and satisfaction is a reminder of the immense responsibility we, as public servants, carry on our shoulders,” Romualdez said.

He said there is still much to be done amid many challenges the government needs to address.

He assured the House of Representatives will not rest until it achieves meaningful reforms that would address poverty, improve healthcare, create more jobs and strengthen democracy.

“This journey isn’t mine alone. It’s a shared mission with my colleagues in Congress and every Filipino who dreams of a better Philippines,” he said.

The Tangere survey included 2,000 participants from across the Philippines — 12 percent from the National Capital Region, 23 percent from Nor
thern Luzon, 22 percent from Southern Luzon, 20 percent from Visayas and 23 percent from Mindanao.
