Querubin takes oath as new member of Monetary Board

Manila: Former United Coconut Planters Bank president and CEO Jose Querubin has taken his oath of office as a Monetary Board member (MBM) of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

In a statement on Friday, the BSP said Querubin took his oath of office on Thursday at the BSP head office in Manila.

Querubin will serve as a member of the Monetary Board until July 2, 2026.

Before joining the BSP’s highest policy-making body, Querubin served as the United Coconut Planters Bank president and CEO from 2003 to 2007.

He was also a board member of the ASEAN Finance Corporation and a former executive vice president and Asia Regional sales director of the Bank of America.

He also served as Megalink president and CEO and Bankers Association of the Philippines secretary.

Querubin holds an MBA from the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, and bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics (cum laude) and Mechanical Engineering from the De La Salle University.

The experienced banker completes the seven-member board
of the BSP.

He joins BSP Governor and MB Chairman Eli Remolona Jr., Finance Secretary and MBM Ralph Recto, and MBMs Benjamin Diokno, Romeo Bernardo, Rosalia De Leon, and Walter Wassmer who joined the board in July.
