Proposal To Hold Board Meeting In Australia Not Yet Approved – KHSB

KUALA LUMPUR,, Kumpulan Hartanah Selangor Berhad (KHSB) today said that reports by online portals claiming that the company’s board of directors meeting would take place in Perth, Australia, from Aug 23 to 27, did not provide a clear picture and seemed intended to spread slander.

In a statement, KHSB clarified that the matter was an internal proposal and had not yet received approval from the board of directors.

‘Any report suggesting that KHSB intends to travel abroad solely for a board of directors meeting is malicious and illogical,’ it said.

KHSB said that, if implemented, the trip would be part of a technical delegation for the company’s core purposes in housing and real estate development, including exploring the latest innovations in the rapidly evolving property industry.

‘KHSB, as a subsidiary of the Selangor government, remains professional and committed to upholding transparency and integrity, while also supporting the highest standards of corporate governance across all aspects of its operati
ons,’ said the company.

KHSB hoped that media organisations would uphold professionalism and ethics by cross-checking information before publishing news.

According to the company, it is crucial for the media, as the fourth estate, to be fair to society and its readers as stakeholders.

Several news portals recently reported that two companies owned by the Selangor government are scheduled to hold their board meetings in Australia this August.

The reports also claimed that the delegation would undertake a ‘technical visit’ to one of the country’s regions.
