Portal to simplify gov’t transactions for German biz launched

Manila: The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) and the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce of Industry (GPCCI) have launched a portal that will simplify government transactions for German enterprises eyeing to do business in the country.

Through the German-Philippines Business Action Portal (GBAP), the platform will streamline business transactions, gather feedback and address concerns related to government services of German businesses already operating or would like to invest here, according to a news release on Monday.

The GBAP is an offshoot of the memorandum of understanding signed between ARTA and GPCCI in November 2023, making the business group one of the first ‘ARTA Champions.’

‘This innovative portal marks a major advancement in digitalizing our country’s business operations and improving efficiency. We extend our gratitude to GPCCI for their invaluable partnership and we believe this initiative will set a new benchmark for public-private cooperation in enhancing business efficiency,’ ARTA Director
General Ernesto Perez said.

Available in English and German, the tool aims to improve transparency, efficiency and overall business operations of German businesses in the country through close collaboration with the public sector.

“The German-Philippine Business Action Portal underscores our dedication to promoting a business-friendly environment that benefits both the private sector and government agencies. We are proud to initiate this platform, setting a precedent for other ARTA champions,’ GPCCI president Marie Antoniette Mariano said.

Deputy head of mission Mathias Kruse of the German Embassy here is also optimistic that the GBAP will serve as catalyst for improving the Philippine investment climate, bringing greater advancements in business efficiency and stronger collaboration between Germany and the Philippines.
