PM Anwar Wants SMISTA Project In Bukit Jalil To Be Implemented Quickly

KUALA LUMPUR, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wants the implementation of Sekolah Menengah Integrasi Sains Tahfiz (SMISTA) project in Bukit Jalil to be expedited.

He wants the tender process for the school construction project to be carried out carefully.

“I want SMISTA to be implemented soon, the allocation is big around RM76 million. I asked Dr Na’im (Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department) to get a report on the progress within one week,” he said.

Anwar said this in a speech at the groundbreaking ceremony of the SMISTA construction project, here today.

SMISTA, which was established in 2011, offers religion-based education as well as modern and conventional science education with the aim of producing huffaz (Quran memorisers) who are able to balance worldly and ukhrawi (hereafter) life.

The construction of SMISTA in Bukit Jalil is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2025 and is expected to be completed in 2028.
