Piano Concert In Prague Celebrates Malaysia Day, Independence With Melodic Splendour

KUALA LUMPUR, The enchanting piano melodies filled the Czech Museum of Music in Prague as Malaysian pianist Claudia Yang captivated the audience with a stunning performance celebrating the country’s Independence Day and Malaysia Day.

The harmonious blend of European classical music and beloved Malaysian tunes, such as Getaran Jiwa and Chan Mali Chan, fascinated the audience.

The piano concert, held on Sept 26, was a resounding success. The Czech Republic’s First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jirí Kozák, was present.

Among the attendees were members of the Malaysian diaspora, government officials and friends of Malaysia, as well as Czech ambassadors and diplomats who had recently concluded their assignments in Malaysia.

The ambassador of Malaysia to the Czech Republic, Suzilah Mohd Sidek, said the concert aimed to showcase Malaysia’s internationally acclaimed pianist and its vibrant and diverse musical heritage.

“Europeans, in general, have a deep appreciation for classical music, which is why we c
hose to host it at the Museum of Music.

‘Many attendees described the experience as unique as it was their first time visiting the museum and enjoying a concert in such a remarkable setting,’ she told Bernama.

This year marks the 53rd anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and the Czech Republic.
