Philippine Marines’ armaments arrive in Maguindanao Norte


COTABATO CITY: The military in mainland Mindanao on Tuesday afternoon welcomed additional war matériel and equipment for the First Marine Brigade (1MBde) stationed in Maguindanao del Norte.

‘The equipment was part of the Armed Forces of the Philippines modernization program and was sent here from the Philippine Marine headquarters in Manila,’ the Army’s 6th Infantry Division (6ID) said in a statement Wednesday.

Maj. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, the 6ID commander, and Maguindanao del Norte Governor Abdulraof Macacua welcomed the military equipment and war materials at the Polloc Port in Parang town.

The equipment brought in by a Navy vessel includes two V150 Armored Personnel Carrier, a V300 Fire Support Vehicle, three V300 Armored Personnel Carriers, two Small Unit Riverine Craft, two 105mm and two 155mm Howitzers, one Light Tactical Vehicle and a Small Unmanned Aircraft System.

Accompanying the war materials were members of the 65th Force Reconnaissance Marine Company, which will be deployed under the 1MBde b
ased in Barira, Maguindanao del Norte.
